EAL - ELIJAH AHMAD LEWIS
Multi-award-winning singer/songwriter, arranger, and actor Elijah Ahmad Lewis (also known as EAL) is an internationally recognized entertainer, known for his energy, spontaneity, and creativity. Elijah’s music is heard as a mixture of contemporary Soul mixed with Pop, Gospel, and R&B. Growing up in the church, his influence was always Gospel. Coming from an entertainment based family, he started very early in the industry at the tender age of 7. His ears were always exposed to a variety of music from classical to Hip Hop and R&B.
In 2006 Elijah became apart and now a founding member of Vy Higginsen's award-winning Gospel For Teens Program, where his craft was further nurtured in music, leadership, and in entertainment. He completed all program levels then stayed to give back to what was given to him. He then went on to become a vocal instructor, composer, and co-music director for the program, Mama Foundation for the Arts (School of the Gospel, Jazz, and R&B Arts), and the critically acclaimed group Sing Harlem.
He began recording in early 2009 when he released his first single “So Sorry.” He would continue to make his mark in the music industry and eventually release and self-produce an album creating a boy band with some close friends from high school in what became known as the group VIBEZ. Their album “MADE FOR YOUR RADIO,” was released under his own music group label, Lacoustic Records, in 2011. He would continue to make an impact musically and release his first EP, “YOU” in 2012. Most recently he has been releasing new music including two new singles "DOWN" and "Everything", in anticipation of a new project being released soon.
In addition to cultivating his own musical efforts, Elijah has also worked with some of the biggest artists in music too, including Madonna, Mary Mary, Ariana Grande, Alessia Cara, Cissy Houston, Marc Cohn, Chance the Rapper, SZA and his uncle James “JT” Taylor (The Voice of Kool and the Gang) in arenas and events such as the Grammys, SNL, The Tonight Show, Carnage Hall, The Apollo, Madison Square Garden, and various TV shows and networks to name a few.
Along with being a much-heralded musician, he is also a sought after actor. Appearing in shows and musicals such as, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat,” “The Piano Lesson,” “Guys and Dolls,” “The Importance of Being Earnest,” “ A Lesson Before Dying” and also a number of his God-family shows including “Sing Harlem Sing,” “Let The Music Play...Gospel” and the longest black running Off-Broadway theater musical in the history of American theater, the gospel classic “Mama, I Want To Sing.”
Elijah is also an ambitious entrepreneur, owning three companies, and extended brands. LaCrafts Studio - a graphic design and branding studio, Javo Lacu - Clothing and fragrance line and Lacoustic Records Music Group-label, partnering up with creative artists to create amazing music content.
He was recently featured starring as Stevie Wonder and Jackie Wilson in Berry Gordy’s Hit Broadway Musical “Motown The Musical" and is currently in the record-breaking Hit Broadway Musical "Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations" as a Principal Standby, covering the roles of David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, and Otis Williams. "Ain't Too Proud" is currently on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre.
